Ask yourself, “How can I encourage someone today?” …”How can I be a blessing?” Every day we are given what I like to call “Divine Appointments”

Everyday encounters are opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life.

After spending many years in the corporate world and retiring nearly five years ago to start my practice, I received a wonderful reminder last week.
A simple text to a former co-worker wishing him a “Happy Birthday” brought back a heartfelt response. He said, “Things haven’t been the same since you left; no one has treated us as well as you did. You are very much missed!” Sometimes we wonder to ourselves ” Did I really matter ? Did I make a difference at all?” When we choose to love others well, especially in the workplace, rest assured the impact is felt.

Here’s MY TOP 5 lessons learned from my time in the global corporate world:

1. Everyone understands kindness, a smile, and knowing that they matter.
2. Treat others the way you would want to be treated, regardless of rank, position, or job title. The return on investment (ROI) in the work environment is priceless!
3. Giving your best effort in tasks, big or small, it builds trust, and your problem solving ability makes you a go to person!
4. People don’t care how much you know until they know that you truly care.
5. Creating a positive, collaborative work environment matters. Teams perform at a much higher level when they feel valued, seen, heard, and appreciated. Often, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.

So take a moment today, have the conversation, get the coffee, give the compliment, take a break from your phone and computer, and remember the amazing people around you!
