Working through Failure.
The Value of a ” True Friend” and a “Loyal Team-mate”. Can one put a price on that relationship? What might it be? Or is it in all reality … Absolutely in-valuable and priceless?
Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 says this: ” Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?”
Lets analyze this a bit further…
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor” Working together, or collaboration leads to much higher productivity, increased creativity, increased efficiency, and far better results than one person working alone.
“For if they fall, one will lift up his companion” -Team members provide support and encouragement during failures, they challenge us constructively, or help us identify or correct mistakes, often helping to think outside the box and preventing a possible total failure.
“But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up”- Isolation and control or being territorial in a professional setting, or in a task or project is pretty risky; lacking support and resources, advice and wisdom, will make it much harder to recover from setbacks or errors, and effects relationships negatively.
“Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?” – This speaks to the emotional, mental, and professional support and encouragement needed. Colleagues providing comfort and stamina in high-stress jobs. Team members can help bear the burden, divide the work load, and provide encouragement to one another to complete the task or project. Spirit of a FINISHER.
“A threefold cord is not quickly broken” – I call this “the right people recipe.” Strength increases exponentially and multiplies, increases creativity and fosters more solutions and results with more qualified people involved leveraging their strengths and expertise. A great team fosters resilience against competition on overwhelming big tasks or large scale projects.
Lastly – Develop TRUST!
Invest in knowing your people, choose to believe in them, grow their skillsets and talents, leverage their experience, and talent and do NOT be threatened by their gifts and abilities, rather figure out how best to purpose them for success.
