Do you know where your thoughts come from?
Many of us think every thought that comes into our head is us. It’s just me!
Scripture tells us differently. Ephesians 6:12 states ” For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil and wickedness in the heavenly realms.”
From time we are born to the time we leave this earth, the enemy has constructed a strategic attack against you, and all that God has purposed and intended for your life, he attacks your image ( you are made in Gods image) your gifts, talents and abilities, and your identity. If satan can get you to believe and buy into his lies, and keep you trapped in smoke and mirrors constructed of fear, chaos, trauma, low self worth and self-esteem, lies, and dillusion, you will never undertand or see who God created you to be!
So lets shine some light of truth on this shall we?
1. Negative thoughts are almost ALWAYS rooted in fear. My favorite acronym for FEAR ( False / Evidence? Appearing/ Real)
2. Thoughts originate in 1 of 3 categories, The Enemy/ My Flesh/or God.
3. Emotions are not TRUTH, they might be my “feelings or experience or
perception” but they are not truth.
So, how do I overcome this? Scripture says this in 2 Corinthians 10:5 ”
“We cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” We need to learn what Gods voice sounds like and speaks, and what satans voice sounds like and speaks, and what does our flesh ( sin nature) sound like and speak. Once we do, we can filter our thoughts, and accurately discern which voice we are actually listening to, and choose our response correctly.
Isaiah 54:17 states this ” No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn.
This is the heritage ( inheritance) of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
God says: YOU are Loved, YOU are made in My image, YOU are valuable! YOU are MY child! YOU are full of purpose, intention, beauty and ability! YOU are not powerless, you are POWERFUL! My Prayer for you today – “May you have power together with all the Lord’s holy people to understand Christ’s love. May you know how wide and long and high and deep it is.”
